WHITEPAPER: DGA (Dissolved Gases in Oil) Multigas Specificiations

DGA analysis should be based on Laboratory Grade Gas-Chromatography technology that is recognised by laboratories, Oil and Gas and process industries. The DGA system shall monitor 8 fault gases (Hydrogen, Oxygen, Methane, Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Ethane, Ethylene, and Acetylene) and nitrogen inside the oil tank to perform different analysis on incipient faults. The DGA monitor must pump transformer oil continuously from the transformer, extract the gas from the oil with a passive membrane system utilizing Method C of ASTM standard D 3612-02 or equivalent and return the oil back into the transformer without de-gassing or otherwise altering the gas levels in the oil
